Banská Bystrica Children's University Hospital has celebrated its first important anniversary - 10 years since its founding – on December 28, 2014. Ten years of progress to achieve its objectives as closely as possible. Since the beginning, it is one of the top 3 Slovak medical facilities providing the highest quality health care. Nearly 350 employees work here. With its team of physicians and healthcare professionals, the hospital endeavors to offer maximum comfort and care for pediatric patients.

In 2007 a part of the building was reconstructed. This reconstruction has renovated the space of the 3rd floor and finished the new construction of the 4th floor. With these building modifications we have completely renovated the space of 2nd Clinic of Pediatric Anesthesiology and Intensive Care and we have also built operational and medical treatment rooms. The Clinic of Pediatric Oncology and Hematology has been completely renovated, too.

Currently we are preparing a reconstruction of the whole tract of outpatient health centers. Beginning of reconstruction is scheduled for the turn of years 2015 to 2016. After its completion there will be comfortable and spacious waiting areas, including a children's playroom and modernly equipped ambulance available for patients.

The next step is the planned reconstruction of 2nd Clinic of Pediatrics, Clinic of Pediatric Surgery and Department of Physiology, Balneology and Medical Rehabilitation.

The hospital management is constantly striving to ensure the best possible comfort for our young patients. However, health care of your (our) children itself, remains the most important priority for us. This persists even though it's sometimes at the expense of your comfort or convenience of your child. However, we believe that you will support our decision to take care of your child as best as we can in medical point of view, and that you can turn a blind eye to a possible imperfection of accompanying services with understanding. We put all the effort to make you feel good in our hospital and we wish your children find it the same way.
